Route Inspector: Unified Route Inspection, Vehicle History, and Geofence Management
For usage details, see the Route Inspector help article.
Route Inspector enables dispatchers to investigate routes directly on a map interface within Route Manager. Users can view stops, manage and edit geofences, review route-specific information, and contextualize with vehicle data. This unified window serves as the primary interface for accessing, editing, and validating geofences within route management workflows, mirroring the Tracking page for a seamless user experience.
Route Inspector:
Reduces the number of screens for conducting activities such as route investigation, vehicle history, and geofence management.
Enables dispatchers to identify and correct manual arrival/departures at stops, preventing erroneous times in job compliance reporting.
Key features:
Automatic/manual indicators: On the route details popout, you can now see if a driver's job site arrival/departure was automatically (A) recorded by EROAD (via geofences) or manually (M) recorded by drivers (in Drive). Dashes (-) indicate information was not available, which could indicate skipped/missed stops.
Interactive map and route visualization: View planned routes and stops with ability to view all stops together or zoom into individual stops
Geofence management: Edit geofence details (shape, location, radius) directly on the map for selected stops.
Trip events trail: See trip events (ignition off, motion stop, geofence enter/exit, manual/automatic driver updates) as dots along the route.
Up-to-date data: See Most Recent Location and Delivery Status (updates when you refresh).
Map display settings: Reuse robust Tracking page toggles (geofences, markers, zoom to vehicle), ensuring a familiar and simple user experience.
Integrated workflow: Close the inspector drawer to remain on the map; return to Route Manager main screen easily.
Note to Admins: We added a new permission (RMT-1002), View Route Inspector, that you can assign to individual users. This permission provides granular control over who can access and use Route Inspector. To edit geofences, users still also need the Route Management > Edit Routes permission.
Feature Enhancements
The following enhancements were completed for this release.
Smarter Yard Move Auto-Review for Unidentified Driving (DFT-1055, DFT-1056)
Unidentified driving events in yards were sometimes automatically marked as “Yard Move” even when the vehicle left the yard during the trip. This led to inaccurate records and extra administrative effort. We updated the logic to include two additional checks to prevent unidentified trips from erroneously being labeled "Yard Move."
Trip must not enter or exit the geofence at any point during its duration
Trip distance must not exceed five miles
Driver/Vehicle Selections Lost After Auto-Refresh (BO360-868)
In Vehicle Manager and Driver Manager, selected vehicles or drivers would become de-selected after a 360 auto-refresh. Now, the vehicles or drivers remain selected.
Reefer Manager Improvements (LMT-1204, LMT-1206, LMT-1207, LMT-1217)
Work continues on Reefer Manager.
Reefer temperature alerts: To avoid confusion when viewing temperature fields, the delineator that follows each field name in a reefer temperature alert was changed from a dash to a colon. For multi-level temperature alerts, the email subject line was updated to include the alert level.
Reefer Manager > Playback: For alarms and alerts that appear in reefer Playback, a tooltip now shows the alarm or alert details.
Reefer Manager > Alarm/Alert History: Multi-level temperature alerts are now shown in Alarm/Alert History. In Event History, Incorrect Setpoint alerts are now included as options in the search filter.
Reefer Manager > Change Setpoint: When viewing Reefer Manager from a mobile phone, you can now update the set point without the screen being truncated.
Fixed Issues
The following issues were fixed for this release.
Missed Stops Leave Routes in Incomplete State (RMT-696)
Routes with any missed jobs remained in status "In Progress" after the routes completed. We fixed this so that the routes will show as "Completed."
Minor Geofence Radius Discrepancies (CT360-1922)
We resolved geofence entry and exit radius rounding issues in the 360 interface.
