Assign Unidentified Driving Record to a Driver

Regulations require that all ELD driving events be assigned to a driver

Updated over a week ago

Drivers see Proposed Edit notification cards when you assign unidentified driving records to them.

Best practice: Monitor unidentified driving records on a daily basis. Assign them to drivers or mark them as reviewed.

To assign an unidentified driving record to a driver:

1. Go to Drivers > Unidentified Driving.

If the Vehicles with Unidentified Driver Records window is empty (no listed vehicles), there are no unidentified driving records to manage for the date shown.

2. As needed, use the filters to narrow the list of vehicles displayed in the lefthand pane.

If you want to assign a previously reviewed record to a driver, ensure that you select Include Reviewed Records.

3. In the lefthand pane, double click a listed vehicle.

A list of unidentified driving records for the selected vehicle displays in the Unidentified Driver Records for Vehicle pane to the right.

4. Under Unidentified Driver Records for Vehicle, select the record you want to assign by selecting its checkbox.

5. In the Search Driver dropdown, select the driver you are assigning the record to.

As needed, use the Driver Group filter to narrow the list of drivers you see in the dropdown.

6. (Required) In the Annotation field, enter an explanation for the assignment.

7. Select Assign to Driver > Yes.

The driver’s name appears in the Proposed Driver column with a pencil icon under Status. This indicates that the driver needs to accept (or reject) the Proposed Edit. The events become read only, and you cannot reassign them.

Once the driver accepts the Propose Edit, the event becomes visible in the daily log rather than in this window. If the driver rejects the event, the event returns to its initial blank status with no driver listed in the Proposed Driver column.
