Note: Only administrators can add and delete geofences, and edit external references and location groups.
Access the Edit Feature
In Tracking, access the new Edit button in several ways:
On the Tracking map, zoom in and select the geofence of interest. 360 opens the geofence’s details panel, where you see the Edit button. (Notice this is under the Locations tab.)
In the Tracking > Locations tab, perform a search for the geofence name and click to open the geofence details panel.
When investigating a vehicle in Vehicles or Vehicles > Replay, click a geofence to go directly to the geofence details panel.
Edit a Geofence
Clicking the Edit button opens the Edit Location panel, where you can make changes.
Use the Shape dropdown to change a polygon to a circle, or vice versa.
The Entry Radius and Exit Radius fields are editable when a geofence is a circle.
Click Save to save all changes, including shape changes.
When adjusting or moving a geofence shape on the Tracking map, click Cancel to abort the change (and start again). Note that this undoes all changes and exits Edit mode.
Groups, Ext reference 1, and Ext reference 2 are exempt from Tracking editing. In Groups, you see the geofence group name if the geofence is associated with one or two groups. Geofences in more than two groups display the number of groups, as in, “+3".
Edit a Geofence Shape
Polygon
Orange shapes indicate the change.
Circle
The Entry Radius and Exit Radius fields sync with each other when you change one of them.
Change Between Circle and Polygon
The following image shows changing geofence 151 from a circle to a polygon. Click and drag the points to adjust the shape/size of the polygon.
Changing a polygon to a circle looks like this.
Save a New Shape
When you Save a shape change, the new shape turns purple, replacing the old version of the shape.
